One day in Long Island, me and my team of 2 delivered content to be delivered in 3 aspect ratios across various platforms. I took this opportunity to try a new filter that enhanced the look of the highlights on the jewelry. The RS3 pro gave us the ability to be flexible on the day and shooting on Red V-Raptor 8K allowed us to preview and deliver high resolution while cropping for multiple aspect ratios and shooting slow motion. As is often the case, we had to make quick adjustments while on location for weather and access.

To create the high contrast within the slashes of light, we had to black everything out, but to make the jewelry shimmer we needed it to catch light. Striking the right balance took some trial and error, but thankfully Adam, Manny, & I had a prelight day to experiment and find the right balance of shadow and light. Macro lenses within my Leica R kit came in clutch as well as the projector mounts for the Nanlite & Aputure units on set. As you'll see below, there were modifiers below, and the movements had to correspond to the placements of our lights and bounces. It was a meticiulous process, but very rewarding when we finally got it right.

It was an honor to collaborate with Ise, Adam, David, & the Levian Team on both their still life and lifestyle shoots in the same year. Despite our best efforts in pre production, there was inevitably some spots where we had to improvise and everyone kept their eye on the prize. Pooling the resources from Manny's truck, Adam's studio, and my camera gear made it easier to adapt on the fly. We were able to experiment with variations on Ise's concepts and find some special moments along the way. Our talent was amazingly patient with all the minute adjustments along the way. It's amazing how well everyone's idea of "getting it" aligned and how well everything coalesced is a testament to Ise's clarity of vision.
